What are Adjectives?
Adjectives are words that describe nouns and are very useful for writers. They may be used to describe the noun or emphasize a point. For example, “She was wearing a yellow dress.”
They are often combined with other adjectives to be more descriptive. Examples of adjectives are “black, cold, and tall.” These words can be added together to describe a coffee or dark beer. Adjectives can be placed before or after the noun they describe.
Adjectives are important for writers because they add color and description to a sentence. They can help the reader visualize what is being described. Adjectives can also be used to express a person’s personality or mood. For example, before the noun could be “A tall fast ship” and after the noun “A ship, tall and fast.”
